STOP DRINKING, "IcanV' are two little words seldom used by & man who drinks; to use them ho thinks is an evidence of weakness, and so we wonder why, when he quits, he doesn't stay quit. If we knew all, our wonder would be, with that terrible craving at hi* vitals, he is able to resist even for a short time—a craving on which will-power, moral suasion, the pledge, self-respect, have no effect whatever, and which until recently has been an insurmountable bar to reform in thousands upon thousands of cases. But the time has come when that craving can bo stopped I Sure, Just as sure as it is possible to cure a cold. The appetite can bo destroyed; the man placed book, so far aa drinking is con* oerncd, just where be was before, he acquired the habit, The cure does not destroy the will, but the appetite. So he will have to learn to drink all over again, and the effort will be so great that if he is worth saving he won't make it. B.
