THE RAILWAYS. [Per Pkess Association.] WELLINGTON, Dec. 15. Tho following are tho railway returns for the four weeks ending Nov 12 EOMH ISLAND.
VITAL STATISTICS. The following are the vital statistics for November;—
* Including suburbs. The total births in tho above boroughs amounted to 378, against 391 in October, a decrease of 13. The deaths in November were 152, an increase of 12 on the number in October. Of tho total deaths, males contributed 85 and females 67. Forty-one of the deaths were of children under five years of age, being 26'97 per cent of the whole number; 27 of these were under one year of age. METEOROLOGICAL. The meteorological returns for November show that rain fell at Auckland on 13 days, Wellington 14 days, Lincoln 6 days, and Dunedin 10 days. The maximum fall was o'9t at Auckland on Nov. 5, 0*35 at Wellington on Nov, IS, o'3B at Lincoln on Nov. 16, 0-66 at Dunedin on Nov. 16. The total rainfall in inches was Auckland 4’6S, Wellington P 64, Lincoln o'Bo, and Danedin 1-93.
