[Special to Press Association.] LONDON, Dec. 12. The petition a garnet the return of Mr W. Redmond for the East Clare seat has been dismissed. Dec. 13. Sir Saul Samuel, Agent-General for New South Wales, in the course of an interview, said he did not believe that the Imperial Government had decided to shortly adopt Imperial peuny post, as the Colonies at present were not ripe for the change. The officials of the Post Office do not deny that the question has baen discussed in the Cabinet, and will not admit that any determination has been arrived at. Mr Gladstone has convened a meeting of the Cabinet to consider tho granting of autonomy to Ireland. Earl Rosebery expresses himself confident that the Government will bo able to secure the adoption of a Home Rule policy. Dec. 14. Ths petition in connection with the Finsbury election is simply one for a scrutiny of - the votes. Many alien votes have been disallowed, and the contest is now regarded as very close.
