MARKET REPOSTS.

Messrs H. Matson and Co. (associated with the National M. and A Company of N.Z., Limited) report for the week ending June 27, 1892 :—Wheat.—The market is quiet, in sympathy with London, and there is very little demand excepting for Pearl, which is required for mixing purposes, and now commands top market value, viz., 3s Bd. Tuscan is. at 3a 6d to 3s 7d, and Hunter’s 3s 3d to 3a 4d. Fowls’ wheat has fallen in value owing to the quantity of damaged grain in the country. Whole wheat ranges from 2s 3d to 2s Bd, and broken at from Is 9d to 2s. Oats still continue to be freely inquired for, o wing to the limited quantity offering, and the various markets all point to a firm tendency. Primeat samples are worth la 9d to Is lOd, good feed la 8d to la 9d, ordinary Is 7d. Barley.—-Inquiries have been fairly numerous, and good prime malting is saleable at Ss 6d to 3s 9d, but there is very little of the latter offering; medium samples are worth 3a 3d and feed about 2a. Potatoes.—The week closes with less demand, and prices are slightly easier at 17a Gd to 20s at country stations for Blue Der wonts. Gross seeds have an increased business. Cocksfoot is slightly firmer at 2|d to 3d for rough seed and 3id to 4d for machine-dressed. Eyeglass remains unchanged, except mg whan old pasture seed can be guaranteed, and buyers having a preference for this, will pay full price, viz,, 3s 9d, but the average quotation is. 3s Gd. Farmers’ samples range from 2a Gd to 3a. Dairy Produce.—Prime salt butter is scarce at lOd to lid, and cheese 3-£d to 4£d, Quotations f.0.b., sacks extra (potatoes excepted). Auction Sale. —On. Saturday wo had a full attendance of buyers, and a very-satisfac-tory safe at following prices Fowls’ wheat, Is to 2s 9d, the former being very inferior; milling wheat did not sell, as reserves were too high. We can recommend consignments of Pearl. Oats we can also obtain good values for, as we have very few to offer. We sold an ordinary line of Spavrowbills at la 7Jd, and refused Is 9jd for superior quality- Barley.—-A line offered sold at la lOd. Grass Seed.—A quantity of saconds cocksfoot sold at Id, and a line of rough seed at2£d. Ryegrass. —-Farmers’ samples sold at, 2s 9d. Potatoes.—Early Koses, 495. (Prices’ex store, sacks extra.)
