LAND BOARD.
An ordinary meeting of the Canterbury Land Board was held on Thursday ; present —Hr J. W. A. Marchant (Chief Commissioner), Messrs D. M’Millan and R. Meredith.
The following allotments were disposed 0f;—370 acres, Waitohi district, under Farm Homestead Association regulations, to Hugh Craig; in Arundel township, under village settlement conditions, 15a Sr 14p, to Robert Nicholls; 23a 3r 33p, to Hugh M’Master; 11a 8r 7p, to Joseph Bryan; 50a, to Charles W. Wilson; SOa, to George Herbert Hibberd; 40a in Reserve 112 S, Waimate, to Janet Louisa Thin, on perpetual lease; 20a, same reserve and conditions, to Francis Forbes Thin; ‘loa in Reserve 1126, Waimate, on perpetual lease, to Thomas Black; 10a, same reserve and conditions, to Philip Leevey ; 409 a unsnrveyed land in Rangitaia district, on perpetual lease, to Reuben Carpendale. The Board approved of the transfer or the village homestead lease of lot 5, Reserves 158 and 2016, Hurnnui Gorge, from John Deebau to Andrew Hamilton. An application from George Jameson to Bub-iet Reserve 1667, half an acre. South Rakait, to C. 3. C. Hilton, was recommended for the Governor’s approval. It was decided to inform the Mandeville and Raugiorti Road Board that it was proposed to set apart five acres of Reserve 143, Rangiora district, for a gravel pit, and to open the balance, fifteen acres, ca settlement conditions. The Board resolved to notify to Mr G. D. Greenwoodj bolder of a pastoral lease at Teviotuale, that, in the opinion cf the Beard, he has not complied with the conditions of his license; and to call upon him to show* cause why his interest should not be forfeited. Mr Greenwood had removed a house erected on the land in question. The proposals of the Anama Road Board for a water-race to perpetual lease sections, were approved, and ordered to be submitted for the sanction of the Hon the Minister for Lands. Two applications for residence on small ora zing runs to be dispensed with wero referred to the Hon Minister for Lands for his opinion on the policy of dealing with such applications. The Chief Commissioner eras authorised to take farther steps to reduce the amounts outstanding for rents and instalments. Tbe sale by auction of Reserve 2063, 11a 3r, Westerfieid district, to Todhnnter and Dowdiag, was reported. The price waa £35. A number of defaulters as to complying with tho conditions of their holdings were dealt with. The Board adjourned to Thursday, July 7. ___
