[Pee Press Association.] AUCKLAND. May 12. A man named Fred. Bold, recently discharged from the Auckland Lunatic Asylum, has committed suicide at Dar■gaville by cutting his throat. The return of bullion from tba Waihi mine for the four weeks ending May 7, is valued at JMO3S, for which 1387 tons of ore were crushed. NSW PLYMOUTH, Mat 12. The inquest was resumed to-day on the body of the Native named Jeremiah, who died a shore time since. A verdict waa returned that he had died from acute pneumonia, death being accelerated through his leaving the Hospital against the doctor’s orders. WELLINGTON, May 12.

The Eev Father M'Namara, S.M., has resigned the offices of Vicar-Genoral and Administrator of the Catholic perish owing to ill-health, and he leaves shortly for Australia. Should the change have a beneficial effect he will return to New Zealand.

The case of Robertson v. Houden to-day again occupied the Court of Appeal the whole of the day, and is not yet concluded. Sir Robert Stout concluded his argument during the morning, when it was taken up by Mr Hosking, on behalf of the other respondents, Messrs Houden and Larnach. Mr Hosking was still addressing the Court when it rose for the day, DUNEDIN, Mat 12. Captain Lloyd has been appointed stationraaster at Port Chalmers. The Harbour Board to-day resolved to adhere to its former decision, and ask the Government to appoint s person to arbitrate between tho Board* and the City Council regarding tho discharge of sewage into the harbour.
