Mr Cuff read correspondence from the Tufnell Park and Huddersfield Athletic Clubs, both of whom would do all in their power to make the trip of the New Zealanders a success. [The letters have already appeared in these columns.] Mr C. H. Croxton moved—-“ That in view of the recent excellent performances of Messrs Hempton and Batger, it ia desirable to send those gentlemen to compete at the forthcoming English Championship Meeting; that Mr L. A. Cuff be also sent to make the necessary arrangements, to acquire such knowledge as may be of future use to the Association, and to impart such information to the Association as may favourably influence English athletes and conduce generally to the welfare of sport in the Colony.” Mr Croxton spoke at great length in support of the motion. Mr Wood.seconded the motion. After a protracted discussion, Mr Harris moved as an amendment meeting be adjourned to Monday, Feb. 22.” He had a telegram from his Club saying that it had not come to a final decision in regard to sending a team Home, and that it would be useless to decide anything at this meeting. Mr Styche seconded the amendment, which was also supported by Messrs Robinson, Otterson and Marshall, On being put to the meeting, the amendment waa carried nem. con. Mr Grierson asked how much it would take to pay the expenses of three men. Mr Cuff thought that about £3OO would be found sufficient, and that there would be no difficulty in getting the required sum. A vote of thanks to the Chairman terminated the proceedings.
