[Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND. Feb. 15. A Committee, consisting of the Auckland Presbytery, is appointed to consider pnd report on the desirability of adopting a scheme for periodical changes of minist^jcf. The Presbyterian Assembly to-day resolved that the Bev William Gillies, 61 Timarn, should be the next Moderator, and appointed Dr Elmslie as deputy to th* Synod of Otago and Southland. ' A ycppfation was passed approving the present system of State education eo far as the diffusion of knowledge is concerned, but expressing regret that religious instruction is not given in the public schools.
