PRIMITIVE METHODIST CONFERENCE. A trial sermon was preached by the Rev J. Cocker, from the text Matthew vm., 10 and 11, at seven o’clock on Saturday morning. i ALLOCATION committee. This Committee was appointed, consisting of the Revs J. Clover, W. Laycock and J. Guy and Messrs J. Taylor, Fioggart and Gibson, the Committee to report on Monday next. CONNEXIONAL EEPEESENTATIVE. It was decided that a letter should he sent to the English Conference, asking it to appoint the Rev Joseph Fergusson, D.D., or the Rev Thomas Guttery, to visit the Colony during the year. DISTRICT MISSIONARY COMMITTEE. It was agreed that the action of the District Committee should he sustained in sending the Rev G. Carr to the New Plymouth station to open a new mission in that district. DEPUTATIONS. It was decided to receive a deputation from the United Free Methodist Conference this afternoon. examiner’s report. The following was read:—First year: Henry Williams—Theology 18, analogy 17, arithmetic 16, grammar 24, English history 15, total 89. William 0. UNITED METHODIST FREE CHURCH.

The district meeting resumed its sittings at Eangiora, at 9 a.m., on Saturday. The Chairman of tho District opened the meeting with prayer and praise. DISTRICT book committee. The report of the District Book Committee was adopted. a request. A telegram was sent to the Primitive Methodist Conference, now sitting in Christchurch, anent its action in appointing a minister at Westport. A deputation, consisting of the Rev E. O. Penny and Mr Flesher, was appointed to wait upon the Primitive Methodist brethren to induce them to re-consider their action. EXAMINATIONS. The report of the Examining Committee was then received and adopted. It was found that the Revs J. Banning and J. Saunders had passed their examinations satisfactorily, and they were advanced one year in their probation. The examiners were thanked for their services, and were appointed for another year. The Rev E. O. Penny was also appointed au examiner. It was decided to conduct the examinations at the end of each four months of the year. The supervisors of the examinations were then thanked for their services during tho past year. The examiners were asked to fix the time for tho examinations at the beginning of the year. MISCELLANEOUS. The question of ministerial character was considered with closed doors. The Auckland circuit was then considered at some length. The session was closed by singing and prayer. ■
