Lady Macdonald, widow of the late Premier of Canada, is gazetted a baroness in her own right; hut succession to the title of baron is confined to the male beirs of ber late husband. OTTAWA, August 16. The Conservative newspaper states that Sir H. Langevin will not resume his position as Minister for Public Works, hat it is expected that he will he appointed Lieutenant-Governor of Quebec.
