Mails close for the following places as under, subject to the necessary alterations:— Tuesday, August 18. For Northern Ports and Westport, per Brunner, at 12.30 p.m.; late fee letters, 12.45 p.m.; guard’s van, 1.25 p.m. train. For Northern Porta, per Rotorua, at 7.45 p.m.j late fee letters, 8 p.m.; guard’s van 9.5 p.m* train. For Greymouth, per Herald, at 7.45 p.m.; late fee letters, 8 p.m.; guard’s van, 9.5 p.m. train. Wednesday, August 19. For Australian Colonies, and also for the United Kingdom and Continent of Europe, vid Brindisi (specially addressed correspondence only), Point do Galle, India, China, Japan, &0., and also for France, Algeria, Mauritius, &c. (specially marked per “French packet” only) per express (to connect with Tarawera at Port Chalmers, at 10.15 a.m.; late fee letters, 10.25 a.m.; guard’s van on express, 11 a.m. Saturday, August 22. For South America, United Kingdom and Continent of Europe, per Coptic, as follows Ordinary letters, 12.45 p.m.; late fee letters, 1.15 p.m; registered letters, money orders, books, newspapers and parcel post parcels, 12.30 p.m.; guard’s van, 2,40 p.m. train. Postage to the United Kingdom, 2£d per Joz. This mail will be due in London on Oct. 3,1891.
