PRESIDENT BALMACEDA’S GREENBACKS, f Special to Press Association .j [Received June 23, at 10.40 a.m.] VALPARAISO, June 22. Insurgent spies have been detailed to watch the shipment of President Balmaceda’s greenbacks from New York, in the hopes that their fleet will manage to capture them. The cruiser Esmeralda destroyed the wharf and railroad at Lobos Island, in order to prevent the shipment of grain.
