WORK AND WAGES.

[Special to Press Association.] [Received June 3. at 10.15 a.m.] LONDON, Juke 2. Nine thousand East End tailors have struck. [Received June 3, at 8 p.m.] Four thousand employees of the London General Omnibus Company threaten to go out on strike on Friday, unless their demand for twelve hours per day and an increase of wages is conceded.

AUCKLAND, June 8.

The delegate of the Queensland Shearers* Union, Mr J. E. M'Donald, delivered an address to the public of Auckland to-night in the Academy of Music. Only abont thirty people were present. Mr M'Donald spoke at some length regarding the shearers’ strike, and said they were holding out as a matter of principle. Their actions and intentions had been greatly misrepresented throughout Australia, but there was no doubt they had right on their side. A resolution was passed, expressing the sympathy of those present for the shearers in Queensland.
