The late Postmaster at Whangarei, O’Hallorsn, charged with embezzlement, has pleaded guilty to the five charges, and will be brought before the Supreme Court to-morrow for sentence. The Wairoa murder case will probably bo opened on Thursday. WELLINGTON. June 2. In the Supreme Court Johanna Josepha Innger was acquitted on a charge of sheep stealing at Eketahuna. In the cases of Charles H. Trainor, larceny at Palmerston North, and Walker Partridge, burglary in Wellington, his Honor thought, from the depositions, there was no prospect of the jury convicting, and the accused were discharged. The Crown Prosecutor, instructed fay the Government, will oppose the application for a special jury in the case of Colemart Phillips, charged with a breach of the provisions of the Land Act. DUNEDIN, Junk 1. At the Supreme Court to-day, George Barnett, charged with horse-stealing, was acquitted. Only one case now remains on the list.
