THE MELBOURNE MEETING.

[BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH—COPYRIGHT.] [Special to Press Association.] [Eecaived Nov. 24, at noou.T MELBOURNE. Nov. 24, The Austral Wheel Race, a handicap, of two miles, for .£2OO, .£SO and .£lO, was run on the Scotch College track on Saturday, and resulted as follows :—Busat, 1; C. N. Hall (160yds), 2 ; K. Lewis (200yds), 3. Twenty-nine started. Tima—smin 40sec. [A.s there wore tb-t-e Buspts on the list as competitors, viz., the brothers T. ¥7. and J. W. H. (both on scratch), and H. S. V. (190yds), it is impossible to say which was the winner. It was expected that J. W. Busst would make the pace for his brother, so there is little likelihood of his proving the successful competitor. Australian writers considered both the others as dangerous men. The race was run under the auspices of the Melbourne 8.C., which recently abolished trophies in favour of money prizes,- an innovation which promises great success in the future. Amongst the competitors were C. E. Wilson, late of the Pioneer 8.C., who was on the 60yds mark, and P. Mills (scratch), well known throughout this Colony.]
