Mr W. Buss reports a good attendance at the Eaugiora markets yesterday. The entry of stock at his yards comprised 1500 sheep, 70 head of cattle, and 200 pigs. There was a good demand for all classes of sheep, pigs and prime cSttle. The prices were • For a splendid line of 320 freezers, on account Mr M, Macfarlane, 225, good butchers’ cross-breds 15s to 18s, merinos 10a to 11s 6d, cross-bred ewes in lamb 9a to Ho 6d, merino ewes in lamb 6a to 6s 6d. Cattle.—Fat steers £5 10s to £7 10s, cows £5 to £7, heifers £4 to £4 10s, yearlings 25s to 275, springers £4 to £6, dry cows £2 to £3. Bacon pigs 35s to 40s, porkers 18s to 20s, small do 14a to 16a, good stores 10s to 12s, small do 7a to 9s, weaners 5s to 7s > sows 30s to 5Cs. In the ProduoeTards Sheepskins, crossbreds 3s 6d to 5a 3d, merinos 2s 6d to 4s 6d, hides at late rates; rough fat Id per lb, fowls la 6d to 2s 6d, stock birds 8a to 5s each, geese 4s 6d per pair, chick-wheat Is lid to 2a 2d, oats la 3d to Is 7d, barley Is 9d, beans 2s 7d, peas 2s Bd, ryegrass seed 4§, potatoes 4s to 5a per sack, carrots 2s >; onions 4s 6dper cwt, apples 4s per case, meal 6s per bag, sharps 3s 6d, bran Bs, flour 16s per bag (guaranteed quality), hams and bacon to s£d pet lb, cheese 3d to 4d.
