[Pee Peess Association.] WELLINGTON, Mat 1. The following are the statistics for March :

The deaths of persons not residents of the Boroughs, occurring at Hospitals, have been excluded in all cases. The total births in the above Boroughs amounted to 119 against 394 in February, an increase o i 25. The deaths in Match wore 196, an increase of 35 on the number in February, Of the total deaths, males contributed 117, and females 79. Eighty of the deaths were of children under five years of age, being 40'82 per cent of the whole number; 68 of those were under one year of age. , METEOROLOGICAL. Meteorological returns for March show the total rainfall in inches as follows: Auckland 2-632, Wellington 2-230, Lincoln (Canterbury) 1-953, Dunedin 3-282. Number of days of rain: —Auckland 8, Wellington 13, Lincoln (Canterbury) 11, Dunedin 13. BANKING. The following are the Bank returns for the Colony for tbe quarter ending March

CUSTOMS RETURNS. The Colonial Customs revenue for April is as follows :

The total for the Colony amounted to .£126,229. In March last the revenue was =£123,007, and for April, 1859, .£116,045. Auckland, Tauranga, Wellington, Nelson, Greymouth, Hokitika, Timaru, Dunedin and Invercargill show increases as compared with the March returns, while New Plymouth, Poverty Bay, Patea, Wanganui, Wairau, Picton, Westport, Lyttelton and Oamaru show declines.
