[Peb Press Association.] I AUCKLAND, Mat 1. D. P. Evans, auctioneer, who recently became a bankrupt, has left suddenly for Fiji without consulting hia creditors on. the subject; but in a letter to the Official Assignee he states that he had met with so many disappointments that he was thoroughly disheartened, and his remorse was added to by the fact that his family was scantily provided for. A friend having given him a passage to the islands, he had gone there, hoping- to return by the end of May in better* circumstances.
