There is considerable excitement on the Stock Exchange owing to the failure of two leading stockbrokers, one of whom oversold, and was unable to deliver; BRISBANE, April 30, WEATHER FORECASTS. With a view of increasing the accuracy of the weather forecasts, Mr C. J. Wragge, of the Government Meteorological Depart* ment, is endeavouring to secure daily observations from Singapore, Batavia, and Bonjoewangi. [Received May 1, at 1.15 a.m.l COLONIAL SUGAR COMPANY. SYDNEY, A pail. SO. At a meeting of the Colonial Sugar Company to-day it was stated that the question of stoppage of black labour in Queensland had been carefully considered, with the result that the sugar industry could hot be carried on in the tropica without Kanaka labour. The Company had arranged for seats to be made in a suitable district in Fiji, with the view of removing the Queensland mills there.
