DUNSANDEL.
[FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT."] THE WEATHER. Since my last report the weather has been magnificent, as far as threshing operations have been concerned, but not exactly the same for grass and turnips. Never has the threshing season been more favourable, and it is many years since there was such, a large quantity of grain. The Dunsandel and Selwyn railway sheds are continually blocked, giving farmers no end of trouble in getting their grain delivered.. The present system of working the railways is simply “ a fad.” What on earth is the good of two waggons per day to a shed that has between fifteen hundred and two thousand bags of grain inside its walls? It is high time things were altered. i DRAUGHTS. I understand the Christchurch Draughts Club intend paying Dunsandel a visit on the Queen’s Birthday. We are losing one good player, Mr George Burgess, who is paying a visit to the Old Country, and I trust he will have a pleasant holiday. WESLEYAN JUBILEE. On Friday evening a jubilee service was held in the hall. The meeting was addressed by the Revs J. A. Luxford and J. G. Chap* man and Mr Watson. The choir sang hymns during the evening.
