Major Serpa Pinto, who recently returned from the Shive district, Airica, has been appointed Aide-de-Camp to King Carlos, and was presented with a sword of honour in recognition of his services while in Africa. ZANZIBAR, April 27. Emin Pasha is to be accompanied on his expedition to Central Africa by six hundred porters, five officers and a bodyguard of Nubian soldiers. A clerk, who has reached here from the Equatorial Provinces, asserts that Emin’s followers revolted because Emin desired to surrender the Eqatorial Provinces to tho Mahdi and his people. PAEIS, App.il £7. The Senegal sharpshooters have been despatched to reinforce the French troops in Dahomey. It is probable an expedition to effect the subjugation of Dahomey will leave shortly.
