THE SYDENHAM BOROUGH

SCHOOL. TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —There are probably many of your readers who, like myself, were astonished to read that on Monday last there were 130 children of Sydenham shut out, because there was no room for them in tne Borough school. Most of your readers, too, will probably want some confirmation ot the truth ot this, before accepting the bare assertion of the Sydenham Borough Council. Why, it is only a short time since the Minister tor Education of the present Government proved clearly that the Boards and Committees had been squandering money in providing school accommodation over the country, tar beyond what there were children enough to use, and beyond what could be possibly wanted for years to come, it is quite clear that either the Sydenham Borough Council or the Minister for Education has been guilty of a wilful and deliberate misrepresentation of fact, and there are of your readers who will think it is the Minister for Education who is guilty.— I am, &c., ECONOMIST.
