GREENDALE SCHOOL.
The annual concert in aid of the prize fund took place in the Orange Hall on Friday evening. The building was quite filled, the chair being occupied by Mr T. W. Adams. The programme, which was a lengthy one, consisted of songs by Mrs Holland, Misses Martin, Taylor, Brown (2), Messrs D. Sinclair, and J. Jarman; duets by Misses Martin and Taylor, and Miss Maule and Mr J. Jarman; pianoforte overtures by Misses Taylor, A. Hutchison, and Gough ; pianoforte duet by Misses Hannah and Annie Gough; recitation by Mr James Gough; and recitations and dialogues by several scholars. The entertainment was highly successful, and after the prizes had been distributed, 'and votes of thanks accorded to all concerned, the meeting concluded by singing the National Anthem. Prizes were distributed by Mr James Gough to all who had passed a standard at the last examination as follows;—Standard VI. —Annie Hutchison,. Jane Gough, William Wilson and Robert Colee. Standard V. —John Adams, Albert Adams, Francis Carlisle and Fred Johnson. Standard IV.—Hannah Gough, Annie Gough, Ada Sheate, Cutbbert Colee and Charles Frew. Standard lll.—Jessie Bruce, Elsie Bruce, Emily Carlisle and Charles Adams. Standard ll.—Caroline Brown, Elizabeth Colee, Alice Evans, Ellen Frew, Mary Frew, Elizabeth Rudd, Annie Munro and William Hann. Standard I.—Edith Early, Alice Early, Rose Hughes, Maud Mills, Mary Monro, Martha Sheate, Jane Stevenson. Eliza Wells, Eva Rudd, George Cullen, Henry Evans, Thomas Gough, William Green, Walter Holland, Albert Holland, James Hughes, Alfred Jane, Edward Mills and William Worsfold. Sewing Prizes : Standard VI. Annie Hutchison. Standard IV.—Ada Sheate. Standard lll.—Elsie Bruce. Standard 11. —Ellen Frew. Standard I.—Eliza Wells. Infants. Blanche Rudd. Attendance Prizes: Standard VI. —William Wilson, Standard V. —Albert Adams. Standard IV. —Cuthbert Colee. Standard 111. Charles Adams. Standard II. —Mary Ann Frew. Standard I.—Maud Mills. The prizes for sewing and attendance were kindly given by the Chairman. A firstclass attendance certificate was gained by William Wilson.
