THE S.S. WAEATH. After an absence of about sixteen weeks, this favourite little boat returned to Fort early yesterday morning, alter having received extensive alterations. As we h»ve previously stated, the little craft was out through amidships, and some twontyone feet , added to her length, making her total length overall something like one hundred md twenty-six feet. Ot course this alteration has considerably increased her cargo and passenger ■pace. The after saloon has been lengtuened by about five feet, end has also been heightened. There are now accommodation for sixteen passen. cers in this cabin. The amidships tabin is the wLcewbere the chief alterations are noticed. It & divided into four compartments, cabins for ladies, cabins for gentlemen, and the officers’ anarters in this cab n there is aocommodtt on for another twenty saloon pass ngers, bringing the total up to thirty-six. The bertha are lai ge, airy and fitted un in a style that compares very favourably with anything on the coast, bpace is provided forward for eight steerage passengers, while the orew are situated under a forecastle in the nose of the vessel. She is m w supplied with a commodious hate .way, which great!, facilitates the working of cargoes. She is still driven by her old engines? which have, however, been thoroughly overhauled, and in some places renewed, A new and larger boiler has bean supplied her, and numerous other additions, the. chief of which is perhaps patent swing davits, similar to tho-e in usSon board the steamer Ksi.u. Taken a together she is quite a different boat, and will doubtless <-nntinne with renewed success iu the Kaik< uraWettogton tirade. The work was done by Mess 0 Lukekad Sons, cf Wellington, under the snparvirion of Captain Wills, her popular snipper. TELEQBAPH NOTICE BOARD. Abwvalb. - Got.
