CHRISTCHURCH. Friday, August 4. (Before R. Westenra and H. E. Webb, Esqs.) Drunkennes s.—A first offender, arrested in Hereford street, was fined 5s and Is cab hire. —Elizabeth Ferrens, against whom there were six previous convictions for drunkenness this year, was proved to have been drunk in Cashel street, and wan fined 40s, or in default fourteen days’ imprisonment. Dogs. —Donald Gunn was charged with being the owner of three unregistered dogs, and was fined 30s and 7s costs. LEESTON. (Before R. Beetbam, Esq., R.M.) Police Cases. —D. FJannighan, for being drunk in a public place, was fined 5s and costs. — H. Chappel, B. O’Reilly, and W. Belton were fined 5s and costs for having cattle straying at large. Civil Cases. —T. Kittenberg v. A. J. Reid, claim £2 'ss. Judgment by default.— J. Bell v. Goodrich, claim £7 10s. Judgment by default. —Pearce and Dowling v. Burnett, claim £8 13s. Judgment by de fault. W. Johnston v. E. W. Osborne, claim £lO 3s 7d; judgment summons. The Court ordered the defendant to pay the amount forthwith.
