Messrs Dalgety and Co., Limited, held their usual sale to-day, when a catalogue of 1750 bales, consisting principally of medium and lower descriptions of wool, was submitted to auction. There was a full attendance of buyers, and a brisk competition prevailed. Prices generally were equal to those obtained last week, though sometimes an irregularity was noticeable. Superior greasy merino realised IOJd to la; medium to good, 7Jd to 9Jd; inferior, to 6Jd. 1400 bales were disposed of during the sale. Only a few superior clips were catalogued. Messrs Goldsbrough and Co., Limited, held their usual sale to-day, when the prices were f illy equal to the last week, the attendance was large and competition spirited. The demand for wool is becoming more general in character. Superior greasy merino brought as much as 11 id ; good crossbred, lOJd; superior lambs’ wool. Is id 5 pieces, Bid; scoured. Is 4Jd. 0,000 bales were sold during the past week.
