Motto—Small profits and quick returns. 2868 BPECIAITItfOTICE AKD WARNING TO THE PUBLIC!!! IN consequence oJ the Great Success achieved, and Entire Satisfaction given, by the “Aurora” Combination Lamp-Stove, there are now several Inferior Imitations of this Superior and Splendid Invention being offered to the public, and some unprincipled persons, by EXHIBITING a sample of tho “Aurora” Lamp-Stove, arc endeavouring to take Orders at a price less than tho published price of £l, and then DELIVERING an article ot an entirely different make to the genuine thing. We therefore find it our duty to WARN THE PUBLIC against such a monstrous Imposition, and remind them that tho very fact of the article being offered for loss money than tho printed and published price of £1 is a sufficient guarantee that tho article eo offered is not, and could not bo, a GENUINE “ ADBOEA." This circumstance at once, and conclusively, proves that oven those people who have these trumpery and inferior imitations to sell, themselves acknowledge the vast superiority of the “Aurora" overall other makes by the very fact of endeavouring to palm their at tide off, and trying to mislead people into tho belief that the so-called Lamp-Stove they offer IS an “Aurora," Thus they practically admit tho “ Aurora” to bo far superior to their own make—else why this endeavour to mislead? In order, therefore, that the public may protect themselves from being imposed upon in this way, and otherwise persuaded to buy an unsatisfactory article (simply because people have such for sale, or can make a better profit out of an inferior thing), it is of tho utmost importance they bear in mind the following facts Namely, that the words “Aurora Lamp-Stove" are cist in raised letters upon the iron font or cistern ot each Lamp, in addition to tlia one word “ Aurora " being painted in large gold letters, upon a red ground, in the front of the Lamp. This name is registered, and persona applying it to mates other than the real article, are liable to prosecution. The cistern of tho “Aurora," which contains the kerosene, is ot solid cast iron, cast all in one piece without smm or join; and whore that portion of the cistern which receives the inch tube is curved upwards, there is also no join or seam at tbo angle—the whole being still all in one piece. And, therefore, it is impossible the kerosene can ■'o.m c-t evaporate through (as lamp stoves of an inferior make are all certain to do, more or less), causing a very disagreeable odour, and certainly not fit to burn in a sleeping apartment, or to be used for cooking purposes. The “Aurora" gives positively NO SMELL and NO BMOKE, Doctors recommend it for the sick-room, and the most delicate dishes are now being cooked to perfection by it. We therefore ask yon not to bo led astray by any misrepresentations, but to read carefully all tho advantages which are claimed, and arc daily being proved in favour of tho “Aurora,' and wo feel satisfied you will come to the conclusion, without a moment's hesitation, that an article capable of achieving all the “Aurora” Combination Lamp Stove does, is certainly cheap enough at 20s, and worth (to anyone using it for any purpose) double the money. What is the good of an article bought for a few shillings less money if it does not give tho result in cither light or heat expected, and only causes disappointment afterwards ? if it will not give more than half the amount of light and a fraction of the heat tho “ Aurora" does ? If it will not give a light sufficient to enable you to dispense with other lights in the room where this is being used ? If it-costs you a penny instead of ONE FARTHING per hour, and consumes four timos the quantity of oil thatthe “Aurora” docs ? If it does not heat your irons quickly and sufficiently? If tho whole affair only lasts for a few mouths before being worn out—when tbo “Aurora " after once purchased will last tor many years with constant use ? Wo ask again, what is the ueo of such an article ? And the natural answer is—Such an article, how. ever pleasing to tho eye, when it is required for real useful service, 18 DEAR AT ANY PRICE. Do not. waste your money by allowing yourself to be persuaded into buying a thing which must prove generally unsatisfactory afterwards; lint insist upon having the “Aurora,” and see for yourself the Lamp-Stove bears this name before you consent to receive it. You will then be as intensely satisfied with your new purchase as your friend and neighbour is (who has had the “Aurora" in ueo and tested), and you will find it a real boon and a genuine comfort nil through the hot, trying weather now approaching; and then, when tho summer is over, it will be found a treasure of domestic convenience and handiness in tte winter. The “Aurora" has never failed (wherever it has had a fair trial) to give perfect and entire satisfaction in all the hundred and one different uses to which it is constantly being applied, and we are perpetually receiving unsolicited testimony of its groat convenience and usefulness; and what a tremendous economiser of labour the “ Aurora " Combination Lamp-stove really is. and what an immeasurably amount of daily fatigue in tho routine of of household duties it saves! lu conclusion, we have to thank the public for tho very favourable reception which has been extended towards the “Aurora” since its first in. trocluclicn hero, and wo will not presume to question the intelligent discrimination of the Canterbury public by further contending the superior merits of this article, but will merely ask them (:t any doubt should exist in their minds) to make a comparison for themselves, and conviction will follow as naturally as the (day follows the night, that the “ Aurora Combination Lamp Stove ” stands practically ABOVE AND BEYOND COMPETITION ! !! Finally, there is still one more—and this is a most important point—which it will always be well to remember. That the “ Aurora,” from its solid and substantial construction is always PER. FECTLY SAFE to use anywhere, and for any purpose, which cannot bo said of inferior imitations. Avoid disappointment and vexation to yourself, by purchasing at first the original and genuine article, as you would assuredly only end in getting an “Aurora" (even had you beeu inveigled into buying an imitation previously) after seeing the 1 rinmph and contentment that reigns supreme in the bouse of your neighbour, whore tbo “ Aurora " is used, and burns like a beacon of light. Shedding light and heat, and diff using a widespread feeling of contentment, goodwill, a good temper, throughout tho household, caused by the immense saving of trouble, labour, fatigue, and expense, which it offsets! 1 ! Positively the best and cheapest contrivance, to give both light and heat, ever invented. We are supplying, properly constructed for 1 tno “Aurora,” nn Oven, capable of roasting a joint of meat.
