Mr F. H. D. Jones wrote resigning as a member of the Committee, as he was going to reside out of town. His resignation was accepted very reluctantly, as the Committee felt that they were losing a most valuable member, but felt sure that he would still have the welfare of the Society at heart and assist the Society as heretofore, by exhibiting fruit, &c. It was unanimously decided to appoint Mr A. W. Bennett in his place. At this stage of the proceedings, Mr Bennett took his seat.
It was unanimously decided to appoint Messrs F. C. East and Walter Baker members of the Committee.
It was decided to ask Mr T. Gundry to act as one of the judges at the September Show, wih Messrs A. J. Abbott and Eaton.
At the conclusion of the ordinary business, Mr E. Triggs read a very instructive paper on “ Tea and Noisette Eoses,” and at the conclusion a very hearty vote of thanks was passed to him for the same. A very interesting discussion followed, in which Messrs Donald, Nairn, Bennett, Davis, and Carpenter took part. Mr F. C. East exhibited a grand bloom of the orchid Cattleya Mossite, and if members and others interested in horticulture would follow his example by sending exhibits these meetings would soon become more generally attractive.
