PROTECTION IN QUEENSLAND
BRISBANE, August 3,
In the Assembly last night, the Premier stated that the expenditure for the current financial year is expected to exceed the revenue by .£58,000. Retrenchment would be made, he said, in every department of the service; and he was in favour of ah adjustment of the Customs Tariff in favour of Protection.
