CHRISTCHURCH CADETS.

A meeting of the Committee of the Christchurch Cadets was held at the City Council Chambers at 3 p.m. yesterday; present—His Worship the Mayor (in the chair). Major Wolfe, Captain Linn, Messrs Levoi, Bowles, Garnett (Hon. Sec.) An apology was made for the absence of Major Joyce. A letter was received from LieutenantColonel Lean, granting his patronage to tho concert to be held in aid of the corps. Lieutenant-Colonel Tosswill also wrote, granting the patronage of himself and the officers of the First Canterbury Battalion, and Major Newall wrote stating that he would certainly attend if in town at the time.

The Mayor stated that he had received a donation of £5 from Mr G. Gould, (Hear, hear.) The Secretary stated that Messrs A. Stening and C. Klingenstein had given donations of £2 2s each. $

On the suggestion of the Bazaar Committee, it was decided to hold the fancy dress bazaar in aid of the funds early in January next. The Mayor said that he had had an interview with Sir Robert Stout, who had expressed himself as exceedingly pleased with the present movement. (Hear, hear.) The Concert Committee brought up an excellent programme for the concert to ba held on August 16, It was announced that Mr Searell will act as accompanist, and the Garrison Band had given their services for the occasion.

It was decided to hold a special meeting of the Committeo at noon on Tuesday next, to consider the tenders for uniforms. After some routine business, the Committee adjourned.
