SOUTH CANTERBURY HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID BOARD.

This Board met yesterday and passed the following resolutions :—“ That Drs Macintyre and Lovegrove be elected to form the Visiting Staff of the Timaru Hospital for the period ending March 31, 1888;” “That the resolution passed at the last meeting, re Hospital Visiting Staff, be altered to read ‘ that the members of tbe Visiting Staff be elected by seniority of practice in Timaru,’ instead of ‘by ballot;”’ “That the rules and regulations relating to the Medical Staff and Resident Surgeon be adopted, as recommended by the Committee;” “That an ice ward or some place be provided for properly storing and preserving ice, the cost not to exceed £10.” Mr Talbot gave notice to move—“ That the administration of charitable aid be placed on a uniform footing.” All the local medical men signified their acceptance of the conditions imposed by the Board on the Visiting Staff.
