" I do not believe,” says a correspondent in Truth, “ that in all the fifty years of the Queen’s reign there has ever been any sort of allusion to political or personal topics at her table. Everything of the sort is strictly prohibited, and proper names are never mentioned, so that nothing can possibly be more vapid than the little conversation that goes on, the usual subjects being the weather, scenery, art r and music."
