Particulars of the attempted assassination of the Czar show that the bystanders seized a student who was preparing to place a bomb on the pavement, just as the Czar and Czarina were expected. A second student, who had a bomb concealed in a bag, was seized whilst trying to escape. It is reported that a woman was arrested having a bomb concealed in her muff. On the attempted outrage being revealed to the Czar he burst into tears.
Prom the constitutional conspiracy which has been discovered amongst the provincial nobility and in the army, it is feared that plotters favour the adoption of a Panslavist policy.
M. Karaveloff has been re-arrested,
It is reported from St Petersburg that upwards of 200 persons have been arrested having in their possession bombs, made to resemble books, containing dynamite and poisoned bullets.
