STEAMER EXCURSIONS.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, — I am glad to see that the Union Steamship Company has decided upon issuing tickets at reduced fares during the summer months, and hope the railway authorities ■will see their way to grant similar concessions on the lines throughout the Colony. I understand that the Railway Companies in England find the plan answers very well there, and I feel sure, if the experiment were only tried here, it would result in a considerable increase in the receipts to the department. At all events, I think it would be worth while giving the experiment a trial. Hoping the suggestion may be deemed worthy of consideration in the proper quarter,—l am, &c., EXCURSIONIST. Dec. 3.
