Negotiations between the Government and the Telephone Exchange Company, relative to the purchase of the Company’s business by Government have been broken off, and the Postmaster-General has announced that Government will establish a separate telephone exchange. THE EXHIBITION OF 1888. . The Trades and Labour Council rejected by a large majority a motion proposed by its Secretary giving approval of the Exhibition to be held in 1888. TEETHLPA DIGGINGS. ADELAIDE, Dec. 4. Many diggers are returning here from Teetulpa, owing to the shortness of the water supply on the field.
