The Manager of the National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand reports as follows on the local grain market: Shipping wheat is quiet at 5s sd; malting barley, no improvement, 3s 9d to 4s 3d; New Zealand feeding oats, a steady but not active demand, Ss Id to 3s 3d; milling sorts have moderate enquiry at 3s 4d to 3s sd; New Zealand oats in bond, slow sale, 2s 5d to 2s 7d. WOOL SALES. [Received Oct. 14, at 1.45 a.m.l Messrs Goldsbrough held the second sale of the ' season this afternoon, the rooms being crowded with buyers. Competition for all lots was keen, especially on the part of foreign buyers. The catalogue comprised 4150 bales, of which 3900 were sold. Inferior to good greasy merino realised from 6|d to Is per lb ; medium to good scoured sold at from Is 2d to Is 7fd per lb. The bulk of the greasy wool was disposed of to Continental buyers.
