THE VACANT INSPECTORSHIP.

TO THE EDITOR. Sib, —Our Education Board will, on next, have another opportunity of exercising its judgment in the selection of an Inspector of Schools. Let us sincerely hope that it will not again overlook, the claims of its own some of whom have toiled for years in its service, and are in every way competent to undertake the position. Promotion is generally looked for in every position of life, and if this is to be ignored in educational matters in our midst, the Board need not be astonished if the public should demand its reasons for passing over eligible men.—l am, &c, * EDUCATION.
