THE SORROWS OF JURORS.

TO THK BDITOK. Siß.—With reference to Mr F. C. Tipping's letter, in your issue of July 27, on the above subject, had he been present at the Supreme Court on Wednesday, July 21, he would have discovered a way of escape from similar grievances in future. I used previously, when I experienced 'similar treatment to that complained of by Messrs Dampier Crossley and Tipping, to consider myself aggrieved, but hia Honor explained the matter so clearly that every juryman can, for the future, escape Buch experiences and has'only himself to blame if his name ever again fills in the blank space of a Bummons form. ; The remedy suggested by his Honoris simply—Let every juror in the list remove his residence outside this 20 mile radius, or if that is not suitable, he can have the option of residing in Christfchurch, in which case, should he be summoned On the jury, he will save the railway fare he previously had to pay when a country resident. I would suggest to Mr Tipping that he avail himself of the former method of gaining; exemption, as being the least [expensive of the two, as I believe the

removal of his homestead about' 200ydar further north would havf* thn d paired .effect.—l am, &c.,- JoHN FULTON. Bangiora, July 28.
