LyUelton Times Office, Tuesday Evening. RANGIORA MARKETS. There wbb again a very large attendance at the Sangiora market on April 27, notwithstanding the holiday time. Messrs Matson, ■ Buss and Co. report prices as follows:—Fat sheep, 7s to 9s; lambs, 3s to 5s 6d; merino ewes, for breeding pur--noses. 2a to 43; do boilers, 9d to Is 3d; fat cattle, 25 to £7; milch cows, £5 to £9; three-year-old steers, in forward condition, £1 to £i 10s ; ditto in low condition, £2 10s to £3; eighteen months old cattle, £1 5s to £1 15s; yearlings, £1 to £l7s 6d; fat pigs, £1 10s to £2; good stores, 8s to 12b ; smaller sorts, 6d to 2s each. In the produce yards the prices were :—Sheepskins, farmers' lines, Is 3d to 3s 3d; merinos, Is 3d to2p3d; cross-breds. Is 3d to 2a 2d; butchers' ditto. Is lOd to 2s 2d; pelts, 6dto lOd; hides, 2Jd to3|d per lb; calves' skins. Is to 2a 6d; fat. id pur lb; wool, 4 bales 4|d per lb, 2 ditto pieces lfd per lb; fowls, Is lOd to 2s Id per pair; duoks. Is 3d to 2s; geese, 4b 9d; wheat (seconds), 2s 7d to 2s 9d; oats, Is lOd to 2s; barley, 2s 4d to 2s 7d; grass seed, inferior samples, le 6d per bushel; potatoes, kidney, 3s to 3s 9d; Derwents, 3s 6d to 5a ; cheese, 6d per lb; pig meal, 10a per bog; onions. Id per lb; beans, 2s lOd to 3s per basheL There were only two or three transactions in the grain market, and there was no alterations in the quotations of last week. The sheep Bale was quiet, bnt the majority changed hands at unaltered values. Cross-breds— Pat mixed, 8s 5d ; ewea, 6s 6d; lambs, 2b lid, Ss 4d, 4s 3d; small two-tooths, 3s 8d; merinos—good wethers, Is 5d to Is tid; sound-mouthed ewes, is to ls6d; cross-bred ewes—mixed ages, 2s lid ; soundmouthed, 4s to 4s 7d. Pigs dull. Cattle.—little enquiry : no fat cattle yarded. Good steers made £3 l3s; fifteen months old ditto, 355; springers, £5 to£62s6d.
