ENTERTAINMENTS, TREATS, &c.

-A tea and entertainment were given last evening in the Assembly Room, Timaru, to the Sunday-school children connected with the Presbyterian Church. After tea (which was partaken of by about 500) the young people were entertained with a magic-lantern display, songs, and recitations, with all of which they were greatly delighted. The evening’s amusement was got up in place of the usual picnic, and in future it is proposed to have the picnic on Anniversary Day.
