ACCIDENTS, INQUESTS, &c.
At the inquest yesterday on the body of Martin Brown, who fell from a stack at the Temuka Linseed Company’s, works, the jury returned a verdict of “Accidental death.” [Per Press Association.] NELSON, Feb. 22. Mr John Honneywell, a gentleman residing at Wakefield, was knocked down by a runaway horse, and his spine is said to he injured. The inquest on Hollyman, whose death resulted from the collapse of the Nile street bridge, was continued to-day, and lasted all day. The evidence of one expert blames the inspectors and the workmanship ; that of Mr Akerstdh finds fault with the design and the manner in which the bridge was allowed to be erected. Judgment stands further adjourned till Thursday. DUNEDIN, Pan. 22. A lumper named Magnus Johnston has sustained severe injuries by falliug down the hold of tee Hawea.
