(Tbb Peess Association.] WELLINGTON, Feb. 22. To-day a man named Cornelius Todd was charged with breaking into Mr Coogan’s tailor’s shop and stealing certain wearing apparel therefrom. He was committed for trial. DUNEDIN, Feb. 22. Twenty-eight volunteers have entered from Otago for the Eifles’ Association meeting at Wanganui. Nearly thirty Volunteers leave for Wanganui on Wednesday. The Clutha Eifles send a strong team. The Sydney bowlers decline to visit the Colony this season. INVEECAEGILL, Feb. 22. At the Police Court to-day, a baker named Kenneth M’Kinnon was sentenced to two months’ hard labour for having, while drunk, assaulted an old gentleman at the railway station. Thomas Spencer, 18 years of age, was committed for trial for a criminal assault on Clara Butler, 11 years and 4 months old. [fbom a coeeespondbnt.J WELLINGTON, Feb. 22. % George Darrell’s Company opened on Saturday night in the " Sunny South ” to a crowded house, under the patronage and in the presence of the Governor and suite. It was a great success, and was received with the utmost enthusiasm. The house is again crowded to-night.
