CITY STREETS.
TO THE EDITOB. " Sib, —May I, through the medium of your paper, draw the attention of our City 'Councillors to the state of our streets, 'which are, I think, a disgrace to the city. |Why, Sir, when you consider the quantises of loose stone scattered about and the ■lj&nvpiness of some of the streets, one really ||(|tonders that there is a sound horse or Mrriage spring to be found. lam one of Mose who voted for the loan, but » appears to me that before spending more money in building more bridges, our I streets ought to be properly made—not by the penny wise and pound foolish system that has ruled in the past, viz., of binding rough broken metal with round shingle, ■ but by putting down properly graded [broken metal, which will bind in dry as Swell as wet weather. Thanking you for fthe favour of space,—l am, &c, SMOOTH EOADS. i ,ii. ■■ ■■mi nwj mnmmnmimmmemmm
