[Per Press Association.] ■WELLINGTON. Sett. 1.8. The following are the vital statistics for the four weeks ending August lo ■
The deaths of persons not residents of Boroughs occurring at hospitals have been excluded in all cases. The total births in the above Boroughs amounted to 511, against 506 in July, an increase of 5. The deaths in August were 201, an increase of 24 on "the number for July. Of the above deaths males contributed 110, and females S 3 ; 77 of the deaths were of children under five years of age, being 28 31 per cent of the whole number; 52 of these were of children under one year of age.
