He announced that a loan for live millions sterling would shortly be placed on tho market in London, and believed it could be offered with advantage at 3‘ per cent. In the Legislative Assembly last night, a motion by Mr Buchanan in favour of the imposition of an ad valorem duty of 5 per cent, was negatived by 38 to 2.
