Browne (late Army Medical Staff) Discovered a Remedy te denote'which he coined the word Chlorodyne; Dr Browne is the Sole Inventor, and, as the composition of Chlorodyne cannot possibly be discovered by analysis (organic substances defying elimination), and since the formula has never been published, it is evident that any statement to the effect that a compound is identical with Dr Browne’s Chlorodyne must he false. This caution is necessary, as many persons deceive purchasers by false representations. Dr J. Collis Browne’s Chlorodyne.—Vice-Chan-cellor Sir W. Page Wood stated publicly in Court that Dr J. Collis Browne was undoubtedly the Inventor of Chlorodyne, that the whole story of the defendant was deliberately untrue, and he regretted to say it had been sworn to.—See the “Times,” July 13,1864. Dr J. Coßis Browne’s Chlorodyne is a Liqnid Medicine which assuages pain of every kind, affords a calm, refreshing sleep without headache, and invigorates the nervous system when exhausted.

Coughs, Colds, Ac. —From W. Vesalius Pettigrew, M.D., formerly lecturer at St George's Hospital, london: —“ I have no hesitation in stating that I have never met with any medicine so efficacious as an Anti-Spasmodic and Sedative. I have used it in Consumption, Asthma, Diarrhoea and other diseases, and am perfectly satisfied with the results.” From W. C. Wilkinson, Esq., F.8.C.5., Spalding:—"l consider it invaluable in Phthisis and Spasmodic Cough; the benefit is very marked indeed."' GREAT SPECIFIC FOE CHOLEEA, DYSENTERY, DIARRHfEA. The General Board of Health, london, report that it Acts as a Charm, one dose generally sufficient. Dr Gibbon, Army Medical Staff, Calcutta, states —“ Two doses completely cured me of diarrhoea,” From Symes and Co., Pharmaceutical Chemists, Medical Hall, Simla, January 5,1880. To J. T. Davenport, Esq., 33, Great Russell street, Bloomsbury, london. Dear Sir—Have the goodness to furnish us with your best quotations for Dr J. Collis Browne’s Chlorodyne, as. being large buyers, we would much prefer doing business with you direct than through the wholesale houses. We embrace this opportunity of congratulating you upon the widespread reputation this justly-esteemed medicine has earned for itself not only in Hindostan, but all over the East. As a remedy of general utility, we much question whether a better is imported into the country, and we shall be glad to hear of its finding a place in every Anglo-Indian home. The other brands, we are happy to say, are now relegated to the native bazaars, and, judging from their sale, we fancy their sojourn there will be but evanescent. We could multiply instances ad infinitum of the extraordinary efficacy of Dr Collis Browne’s Chlorodyne in Diarrheas and Dysentery, Spasms, Cramps, Neuralgia, the Vomiting of Pregnancy, and os a general sedative, that have occurred under our personal observation during many years. In Choleraic Diarrhoea, and oven in the more terrible forms of Cholera itself, we have witnessed its surprisingly controlling power. We have never used any other form of this medicine .than Collis Browne’s, from a firm conviction that it is’ decidedly the best, and also from a sense of duty we owe to the profession and the public, as we are of opinion that the substitution of any other than Collis Browne's is a deliberate breach of faith on the part of the chemist to prescribar and patient alike.—We are, Sir, faithfully yours, SYMES A CO.. Members of the Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, His Excellency the Viceroy’s Chemists. DE J. COLLIS BEOWNE’S CHLORODYNE Is the True Palliative in NEURALGIA. GOUT, CANCER, TOOTHACHE. RHEUMATISM. From Dr B. J. Boulton and Co., Hornoastle •• Wo have made pretty extensive use of Chlorodyne m our practice lately, and look upon it as an excellent direct Sedative and Auti-Spasiuodlo. It seems to allay pain and Irritation in whatever organ, and from whatever cause. It induces a feeling of comfort and quietude not obtainable by any other remedy, and it seems to possess this great advantage over all other Sedatives, that it leaves no unpleasant after effects.” Dr J. Collis Browne’s Chlorodyne rapidly outs short all attacks of Epilepsy, Spasms, Colio, Palpitatiou, Hysteria. Important Caution.—The Immense Sale of t.bia Remedy has given rise to many Unscrupulous Imitatious. N.B.—Every Bottle of Genuine Chlorodyne hears on the Government Stamp the name of the Inrenter. DRJ. COLLIS BROWNE. Sold in Bottles, la lid, 2s 9d, is 6d, by all Chemists. Sou Mahusactumb : J . T. DAVEN PO R T 38, Groat Bussell street, W.C.
