Beston, on his losmug Canterbury after many years of aorvic* on the vettry. In reply to a question, tho Chairman stated that the ducdav-scho>i fund showed a debit balance for the year of £2 13*. It was suggested that, with a view of supplementing this fund, an aires box should be placed in the Church porch. A gentleman present thereupon stated his willingness to provide one for the purpose. A vote of thanks to the Chairman was then passed, and the meeting terminated. P&EBBLEION. Th; general moeting of church members was b/-fd ia the schoolroom on Thursday evening, tns iacumlwct (Hcv A. After a snort address from the Ch&ir&an, in wh eh he reviewed tho work of the past year, Mr Jiast read the report and balaEes sneet, which showed that £174 Is bad been received, and £2u2 10j expended. There were outstanding assets which would reduce the debts to about £l2. The Inoumbent nominated Mr East as his churchwarden, Mr Gabbotee behsg re-elected parishioners' warden. The vestrymen elected were Messrs Tesswiil, Overton, Andereon, Comerford. Earwood, K Prebble, Haydon, White, Carpenter ar.d A Harwcod. Mr J. W. Overton was nominated for the office of synodeman. The Incumbent exprt-saed his thanks to the ehurchwareens for their work daring the past year, which had been a trying one, and urged upon the parishioners the necessity of cooperating with them in carrying on tae work of the church. Yotea of thanks were aooordtd to the organist, choir aod churchworkers. It was retalvtd to nold a tea and parish gathering on Friday, April 27, to clear of: tii<-> outstanding liabilities. ST AKDBEW3 CHCBOH, OXFOBD. Tha sisnual Easter meeting of the parishiort-rs was held in the ehurch. on April 5. Ihe ehair wae taken by the Bev J. gh'idon. The report of the past year (eho>TiniJ a netfc balance of £24) was read by the WiU-iL-i:, MrF. Cornycs, and was passed as read by tho meeting. Tb.at.ks were hearUij vo;cd to the retiring cburohwardens and vestry, as also to the Sunday-school teachers, especial mention being made of Mrs Sheldon, tothe choir, and to the lay readers, Mr Puichas «id Mr Majo. air Parchas was especially mentioned in connection with the Sundfiy-ichccl, and hii services generally. The number of persons present was very email, but the proceedings were very hearty, and the arrangements tor carrying oat the eerrhesin ccnucclisn with the enurch in the district were considered to be satisfactory. Mr F. Comjns and Mr Meyers were reelected churchwardens, and the following gedlersec were chosen to scrva as vestrymen: —Dr Weld, Messrs istriugman, Collman, Deaa, Lave. The annual Taster meeting of the Church maKbera was held on April 5; present — JBxv S. Collins (Chairman), Messrs '£. H. Anson, W. Bashford, C. Thomas, B. Boper, ard W. J. Jenkins. The statement of accounts showed a very gatisfaciory reduction ia the Church's indebtedness, viz., to £9115a 2d. There is, however, a deficit on account of the clergyman's stipend of £l3 10s. The following gentlemen were nominated to act as OLuroh. officers for the ensuing year:— Mesira T. H. Anson and W. J. Jenkins as Churchwardens, and Messrs C. Thoaias, W. Ba»hford, B. Boper, A. Davis, G. Bedford, and U. F. Morley as vestrymen, lhe following resolution was passed:—"That in the opinion of this meeting the present parochial district of Malvern is far too extensive for one clergyman to work satisfactorily. This meeting therefore respectfully zequests bis JLordahip the Bishop to take such steps as he may deem expedient to get the boundaries of the district altered." The usual votes of thanks tercciaated the meeting. LYTTELTON. At tho annual parish meeting of the Church of the Holy Trinity, held on Friday night, Messrs Bu AHwright and H. 2f. Nalder, the only gentlemen nominated, were duly elected as synodsmen to represent the parish for the antuing year. The meeting then adjourned to next Friday, to allow of the production of the annual parish accounts and balance-sheet, which will be ready by that date.
