This Court again sat in . the Resident Magistrate’s Court, Eaiapoi,- before ' His; .Honor Judge Symohds and the Native •Assessor, E.Hairimond, Native Interpreter! <•. i The Natives were informed that the principal business: which would occupy the attention of: the Court that day would bo revising the lists, of the different hapus; ' A. list of Natives- was handed in by Pitai Mutu containingthe names of the owners' of the reserves in question.. Pita Mutu, George Pita Mutu, and Wikitoria Mutu- were i objected to, as they were also on the Raupaki, reserves. ■ ■ ■ ■■■’■■ ■■■■ : George Pita Mutu, sworn, said: I am a Minister of the Church of -England,- and livej at Eaiapoi. I belong >to- the Ngatiwaewae hapu, and I am one of the j persons who have! a right to the,Eaiapoi reserves; : I.was lining at Eaiapoi when Mr . Buller mada theasub-i division of ; the reserves; And my name -is on,: the : list of the Eaiapoi: reserves. - No subdivision was mode of the Raupaki reserves, by Mr Bviller. ' My name was-put into the Baupaki reserves by Mr Renton in 18681- - We -had no claim to the land, but -were allowed to 'be put on by the -Banpaki Natives. - - The Natives. were here informed that because Any one of them had his name on other reserves, it was -no- reason, why they -should not also bo put on tho Kaiapoi reserves. The objection to the Matus’ names being on the i list was then withdrawn.: * .■ 1 The names on the Ngatihunhia Hapu wAs then read,:And Matiria-Tepa was objected to, as not being in the district when , Mr- Bailor made the subdivision; by Te Oni Tika-Wira, whose evidence was- corroborated by Mari Teika, arid her name Was struck off. Hira Putera was also i objected to. -by thesame parties for similar reasona. To WirihanaPohata, confirmed the last witness’ ovidencejandslhc -name was struck off. ■>Eiti Teika.was also objected to by -same parties for the-same reasons, and was also struck off. -The list was then accepted; , - ' ■ _ ■ The list-of the Ngatiwaewae Hapu .was then read over, and: the name of -Eiria Parata was objected to by Hops Haris, and -Te .Oni Wiri Hama Pohata, and the name was strrick OUt. i■ i ■ - •.■■■■■ .. ■ HanaTeura, Mata Wortf Teura, Taro Teura, ;WakenA Titiro Teura, And Am Teura were also objected to, and it was decided to allow the list to stand over till to-day. _ -- -.
