Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under : Saturday, Feb. 14. For Akaroa and Otago, per Wanaba, at 11.2 S a.m.; late fee letter, 11.35 a.m,; guard's van, 12.10 p.m, train. For Northern ports, per Penguin, at 6 p.m. The guard’s van must not be used for this moil. Tuesday, Feb. 17. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Bingarooma. The next mail for the United Kingdom via San Francisco will be closed at Christchurch on Feb. 28, and will be due in London on April 13. The next mail for the United Kingdom yiS. Brindisi will be closed at. Christchurch on March 11, and will be due in London on April 29,
