There are 53 cotton mills in operation in North Carolina, and the consumption tor the past year has been estimated at 3-<,484 bales, or 17,297,800 pounds. This was an increase of 16,644 bales over the previous year. Three large mills are now being erected, with the prospect that otters will be added within the next twelvemonth.
